Top reasons to study Chemical Engineering at the University of Greenwich

TLDRoffon

Chemical engineering students at the University of Greenwich offer their top reasons to study the subject at the University of Greenwich.

Broad study options and excellent facilities

The University of Greenwich offers a range of chemical engineering degrees. Students can embark upon the standard three-year BEng degree (six years if studying part-time) or can opt for the four-year MEng pathway. The University of Greenwich also offers BEng Chemical Engineering (Extended) for students who wish to study with a foundation year. The courses are designed to support students to build strong theoretical foundation, which they will then complement with practical work and experience. In addition, a range of elective modules available to choose from in the third year will allow you to align your studies to your specific subject interests.

On the University of Greenwich’s Medway Campus in Chatham, Kent, chemical engineering students will consolidate their learning and develop key practical skills for industry in a well-equipped, recently refurbished laboratory. With the support of the University’s academics and dedicated technical teams, students will gain valuable hands-on experience alongside their learning in areas such as continuous distillation, reverse osmosis, heat transfer in fluidised beds, multivariable control or reactor engineering and more. Students will also take advantage of the University’s computer labs and will utilise software such as Aspen HYSYS and COMSOL Multiphysics to support their studies in simulating chemical processes.

I knew the university’s great facilities would help me hone myself to become a great future chemical engineer, using my knowledge and abilities to their full potential.
Erine Shanley Sarenas

The university's chemical engineering courses are also complemented by the presence of the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology at the Medway Campus, an excellent opportunity for students to experience a real example of industry.

Qualified and attentive teaching

Chemical engineering students have also praised learning under the supportive and knowledgeable team within the Chemical Engineering department. Expertise and knowledge of staff reflects the modules they teach.

The best part of studying at the University of Greenwich is that when it comes to lectures, lecturers ensure that all students in the class understand every part.
