Access a STEM qualification without a STEM degree
Do you hold a degree in a non-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subject? Are you interested in studying towards a STEM postgraduate degree? Perhaps you would like to retrain to enter a new career within STEM, require a platform on which to specialise your learning, or to enhance your existing career?
MSc Data Science and its Applications is a new course at the University of Greenwich. The course welcomed its first intakes of students in September 2023 and January 2024. In a unique offering for the University, the course is available to study at either the University’s Greenwich Campus in Greenwich, London, or the University’s Medway Campus in Chatham, Kent, so you can choose to study the course at the location most convenient to you.
The course will allow students who do not hail from a STEM background to study a STEM postgraduate degree. Contextual priority for this course will be given to applicants who are female, black, disabled or from a low socioeconomic background. Applicants should hold an honours degree in a non-STEM discipline equivalent to UK 2:2 and GCSE mathematics or a recognised equivalent.

This 2023 cohort of the course have praised their studies so far and the opportunity to access a postgraduate STEM qualification through this course, supporting them to meet their personal or professional goals.
I have had the opportunity to learn different programming languages such as Python, and other new software. I love the teaching styles of the professors and how they incorporate guest lectures to make the learning even more fun and interesting. I am happy that the University of Greenwich supports my dream to become a data scientist.
