CREST
The University of Greenwich is an academic partner with The Council for Registered Ethical Security Testers (CREST).
CREST certifies professionals who have passed a set of examinations recognised by the professional services industry as a kitemark of knowledge, skill and competence.
It offers several career-orientated benefits for students. One of these is internships, which are a great way to gain real-world experience and showcase talents to businesses. CREST also provides guest lecturers on career advice, ethics and the professional development path.
Many of our gradates begin their careers in CREST-accredited companies.
At CREST's annual conference (CRESTCon), our students can volunteer to assist with running the event and get the chance to attend talks and showcase their final-year projects to employers.
To join the CREST student community, you need to be working towards an information security related subject in higher education. The relevant courses at the University of Greenwich are:

Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec)
We are also an academic partner with the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec).
CIISec is the only pure-play information security institution to have been granted Royal Charter status and is dedicated to raising the standard of professionalism in information security. As part of the Government's investment in cyber security, the CIISec consortium has been appointed by NCSC, a part of GCHQ, to provide certification for UK Government Information Assurance (IA) professionals.
It offers several career-orientated benefits for students. Some of the benefits include access to a world-class speaker track and Career Development days. Also, our students are given the opportunity to compete for an annual CIISec-supported Best Student or Best Project prize.
Students on specific courses relating to computer and cyber security automatically become members of CIISEC until they graduate. At Greenwich, these courses are:

- Computer Forensics and Cyber Security, MSc
