"I initially chose to study at the University of Greenwich due to recommendations from friends and teaching colleagues who had studied there previously and had had a great experience." Toyin told us. "I also had a very positive experience at the university. I enjoyed taking part in the Doctoral presentations and the Weekend EdD programme involving the presentation of aspects of students, thesis chapters and receiving constructive feedback from the audience."
Toyin also spoke positively about the various support structures that are available to students, such as a careers service, counselling and wellbeing services as well as financial advice, which can be accessed when needed.
Now a Lecturer at Lewisham College, Toyin is also a Director of Studies (Lead Supervisor) for the Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) thesis at the University of the West of Scotland (London Campus). Toyin told us "Studying at the university has developed me personally and professionally. It has developed my communication, research and presentation skills."
Toyin had great things to say about the academic staff too. He remarked "I had a fantastic and productive relationship with all my lecturers. They were very professional, friendly and helpful throughout my programmes." As well as this, Toyin told us that he made many friends at the University of Greenwich, many of whom he is still in contact with today.
Finally, we asked Toyin if he would recommend the courses that he studied. He said "I have recommended several people to the courses I studied at the university already and I will continue to do so."
Thank you for sharing your inspiring story with us Toyin!
