Julia Morgan talks us through the BA Hons Health and Social Care Top Up.

Our BA Hons Health and Social Care Top Up is a Level 6 qualification and enables practitioners and those with a Level 5 qualification to complete their studies and graduate with a BA Hons Health and Social Care degree. Students can study our health and social care top-up degree full-time in one year (two days per week) or part-time over two years (one day per week). They will learn alongside other professionals and benefit from our strong partnerships with service users and carers.

Our health and social care top-up degree is for professionals with a background in social care, housing, health, or nursing who have a qualification at Diploma level and need a degree for career progression.

With the help of our lecturers, who are experts in the health and social care sector, students will gain theoretical and practical experience and knowledge of multi-professional and multi-agency teamwork. This will help them develop their knowledge and understanding of the complex issues in this sector and prepare them for the next step in their career or enable them to apply for postgraduate courses such as MSc Nursing, MA Social Work or the MSc Global Public Health.

Students will focus on modules such as community development, leadership and management, person centred care, multi-agency working and write a dissertation on a topic of their choice. All lectures and seminars will take place at the Greenwich Maritime campus in the heart of beautiful Greenwich in South East London. Students will have access to academic skills support, employability advice and a world class library.
