The first #GreHacks of the academic year was a resounding success. Hosted in partnership with Everyone's A Singer, the event brought together innovative minds to tackle two exciting challenges set by founder Tracy Durrant: capturing customer data and developing an app to enhance business processes.

What is #GreHacks?
#GreHacks is a dynamic two-day event where student teams compete to solve real-world challenges set by businesses and organizations. It’s an opportunity for students to develop creative solutions while gaining invaluable experience. This year’s partner, Everyone's A Singer, is a pioneering music well-being company that delivers engaging singing workshops to corporations like Porsche and Intuit.

Empowering Students Through Skill-Building Workshops
Participants honed their skills through hands-on workshops led by industry experts:

  • Business Problem Solving with Aaron Tan
  • Using Tech to Grow Your Customer Base with Ayodeji Ibitoye
  • Pitching and Presenting with Lynette Lisk

These sessions equipped students with the tools to ideate, create, and pitch their solutions effectively.

A Celebration of Innovation and Dedication
The weekend was a whirlwind of learning, collaboration, and creativity. From singing exercises to brainstorming sessions, students pushed boundaries and showcased their talent.

Tracey Durrant, founder of Everyone’s A Singer, was thoroughly impressed:

“The enthusiasm and dedication from the students and their innovative presentations were inspiring! Congratulations to all who attended and to the winners.”

The event also sparked a passion for consultancy and innovation among participants, as captured in the words of Serena Shanaia, a Mechanical Engineering (BEng Hons) student:

“This experience has sparked my interest in consultancy, especially in leveraging technology to solve complex business challenges. Thanks to the Generator for hosting such an inspiring and skill-building event. Looking forward to future innovations and growth!”
