As part of this magical transformation, the borough has rebranded to the ‘Royal Borough of GreenWitch’ for the next two weeks.
Jane Harrington, Vice-Chancellor and CEO of the University of GreenWitch, said:
“I am delighted to announce that the university is rebranding to the University of GreenWitch for the next two weeks to celebrate all things Wicked and the magic of higher education.”
On campus
Across campus, you may notice more magic in the air as we mark this thrilling adventure. Keep an eye out for ‘University of GreenWitch’ signage, as well as a themed globe and water installation outside the Dreadnought building! Make sure to tell your fellow students and staff that the university is now known as ‘University of GreenWitch’. Our Student’s Union will also be sharing mesmerising content and exciting activities over the next few weeks, including Wicked Wavey Wednesday on 20th November.
In the meantime, we encourage you to spread the magic and join us in updating your profiles to ‘University of GreenWitch’ and use #UniofGreenwitch.
Beyond campus
From now until 24 November, students and staff to the newly named “GreenWitch” can collect a free map from GreenWitch Tourist Information Centre or download one at VisitGreenWitch and embark on a spell-binding walking trail, spotting magical new road signs along the way.
The trail begins at the Tourist Information Centre and on to the entrance to Greenwich Foot Tunnel to view a special plaque. Next travel along GreenWitch High Road and past the perfectly named Green CafĂ© and GreenWitch Picturehouse cinema, and onto the dazzling roof installation and archways at GreenWitch Market. After this, walk through the University of GreenWitch, taking note of the waterfall installation, 'University of GreenWitch’ Globe and ‘University of GreenWitch’ signage to guide the way.
Wicked is released in UK cinemas on 22 November.
