Memories of Greenwich
I studied for my BSc and then, thanks to the University's Postgraduate Scholarship, my MSc at Greenwich. As a student, I decided to take as many opportunities as I could and work hard to craft a powerful CV for when I graduated. I was Head of HR for Enactus Greenwich, Social Secretary for KSoc and I participated in a number of student competitions, including Generator’s Enterprise Challenge. I was awarded a First Class Honours for my BSc Computing and a Distinction for my master's in Computer Forensics and Cyber Security. I also found roles as a Student Clearing & Recruitment Assistant and IT Support Technician really fulfilling.
I remember during my undergraduate degree experiencing the snow at Cutty Sark, it was amazingly beautiful. My friends and I went to Greenwich Park to snow sled down the hills, truly memorable and so much fun. I also enjoyed the old SU building (now the Cooper Powerhouse) and loved playing pool there between lectures.
Life after Greenwich
Alan says he has been working for 6 months since I graduated at BDO as a Cyber Security Analyst. It’s a dream come true to be working there in a field that I am very passionate about. I am currently studying for industry-level certifications; SSCP and CompTIA Security+ and I am also currently co-authoring a 12-week Apprenticeship Programme with a well-known US educational institute to provide recent graduates with industry/practical experience. I am volunteering 4 hours a week to support The Cyber Helpline, supporting individuals with security issues that they are facing.
