Study your passion. Shape your future: Anu

TLDRoffon

Anu: Law student and justice believer

“I’ve always been interested in the legal system” says Greenwich LLB (Hons) Law student Anu. Coupled with this interest is a passion for ensuring justice, something she considers being “one step closer to making our world a better place”.

A desire to help the vulnerable

More recently, Anu came to realise that “many of my characteristics, such as confidence,  perseverance, compassion and communication skills, reflected common traits associated with  lawyers.” It is perhaps only natural that Anu has chosen to combine her interest and passion  with these attributes in order to “help vulnerable people in the future.”

Enjoying her time at Greenwich, Anu cites the quality of the teaching and the diversity of the  student body as aspects she loves. Our stunning campus is also clearly a draw as it’s “located  at the heart of Greenwich”.

In terms of her studies to date, particular enthusiasm is reserved for the LLB (Hons) Law course first-year module* - ‘Problem Solving and the Law’. Anu explains that she loved reading through  the various scenarios students on the module were presented with and she enjoyed trying to understand the hypothetical client’s issues. She felt it perhaps gave a glimpse of what being a practising lawyer might entail.

What’s next?

After completing her LLB, Anu plans to take a gap year. After this, her ambition is to go on to complete the SQE (Solicitors’ Qualifying Exam) in order to quality as a solicitor, able to practise law in England or Wales and problem-solve for real!
