Greenwich’s School of Stage and Screen welcomed students and guests to the 2023 Awards which celebrated the talents, creativity and achievements of Greenwich’s graduating Film & TV students.
The evening’s audience was ably entertained by the event’s compère, award-winning comedian Daman Bamrah, and - ahead of discovering who had won one of the coveted GRAFTAs - got the chance to see the class-of-2023 nominees’ excellent work on the big screen.
For 2023, the winners of the various GRAFTA categories were selected by an industry sponsor. These companies - and the category they judged - were:
- The Greenwich Picturehouse - Best Film Award
- Panavision - Cinematography Award
- Lipsync - Sound Award
- Complete Fab - Production Design Award
- Media Monks - Directing Award
- Trim - Editing Award
In addition, and new for 2023, the close relationship between the School’s Film & TV Department and Drama Department was recognised with an award for the Best Performance by a drama student.
Commenting on the event, Professor Misha Myers, Head of the School of Stage and Screen said “this year’s GRAFTAs included another impressive range of works from our Film & TV graduates. Their work not only told powerfully moving, challenging and relevant stories of our times from their diverse perspectives, but also showed off their amazing skills and craft across the whole range of roles in film and television production. We are so proud of them all!”.
Planning for next year’s GRAFTAs starts later this year and we can’t wait to see what 2024’s event will bring!
