5 Questions with an English Literature Student

Jasmine - a second-year BA (Hons) English Literature student - is here to give you some insights into her course and experiences as an English student at Greenwich and her aspirations!

Why did you choose to study English Literature?

I chose to study English Literature because it’s a subject that allows me to explore different perspectives and improves my communication skills - plus, it’s a great foundation for a career in writing, teaching, or any of that field that values strong communication abilities.

What has been your favourite part about studying at Greenwich?

One of my favourite parts about studying at University of Greenwich is the diverse community - it's been amazing to meet people from different backgrounds and learn about their cultures.

What are your plans for the future?

Studying at this university has inspired me to become an English lecturer - so, after graduating, I would love to pursue a master's degree.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about studying English at Greenwich?

The advice I would give to someone studying English would be to really use their time wisely. You will have plenty of books and articles to analyse and read, so organising your time would be key.

How would you describe studying English in three words?

Engaging, exciting and creative!
